OklahomaUnschoolers (Oklahoma Unschoolers) - Discussion group & activity center for Oklahoma homeschooling families who consider themselves toward the unschooling end of the homeschooling spectrum. Unencumbered discussion on philosophical and practical aspects of unschooling, unschooling thoughts, experiences, questions and applications.

Since unschooling is an individual process, many of the details will be very different for different families. We formed this group to share support and give examples from our own lives so that we may inspire one another. Also, since each of us is working within different circumstances and are at different places in our development, we may define unschooling somewhat differently depending on the challenges that each of us may be facing in the moment. Since unschooling is inherently indefinable, any descriptions and definitions that come out on this list are not meant as dogma, but rather a means of working out what it means for each of us as individuals. Unschooling tends to get under the skin and has caused many of us to rethink other aspects of our lives, so there will necessarily be a lot of discussion about the way we live, as well as how to cope with struggles of unschooling as we pass through our own Personal Development 101. At this level, the educational becomes very difficult to separate from "the rest". Unschooling issues turned Life issues can become very personal and cut to the heart of who we are. So please be thoughtful, respectful, and kind.

    To Subscribe, visit OklahomaUnschoolers.

OKlegislative (An open forum for facts & opinions regarding media reports & legislation that may impact Oklahoma homeschoolers) - The OKlegislative list is a non-partisan forum limited to discussion of the facts and opinions regarding legislation passed, or being considered by Congress and/or the Oklahoma Legislature that will, or does, directly affect homeschooling families. The OKlegislative list serves as a link in a statewide information network. Posting pertinent legislative facts and information to this list is welcomed and encouraged.

Our sister-list, Oklahoma Homeschooling, is an open discussion of ALL issues related to homeschooling in Oklahoma and homeschooling in general.
