    Big World Peninsula - Southside of Norfolk/Chesapeake (bigworld_peninsula) - This group focuses specifically on events and happenings in the local area that homeschoolers may be interested in. There is a parent group that lists events taking place on the Southside of Norfolk and Chesapeak. We list mostly events happening on this side, but all events are open for publication. Events will be from local Parks & Recreation groups, 4-H, libraries, museums, the aquarium, space center, zoo, homeschool classes, field trips and co-ops, curriculum sales and conventions, and more! Areas served include Hampton, Newport News, Yorktown, Williamsburg, Poqueoson, and other Peninsula localities.

    Catholics in Action! - Southeastern Virginia (VACIA) - A monthly support group to encourge catholic homeschool families, living in Southeastern Virginia. As we have restricted membership, anyone wanting to join must submit an introduction to the moderator in order to be approved.

    Christian Military Homeschoolers Co-op - Virginia Beach area - an active group for homeschoolers of every type (traditional, eclectic, unschoolers, etc.) We provide activities and enrichment oppurtunities for families in Virginia Beach area.     Hampton Roads Black Home Educators (HRBHE) - An all inclusive network of homeschool families in the Hampton Roads and surrounding areas of Virginia. Hampton Roads Black Home Educators serves families who choose to home school by networking through activities, community events and yahoo groups . Park days, fieldtrips, Mother's night out, family nights, Teen groups, teen volunteer opportunities, Co-ops and more are events that are available through HRBHE now or in the near future.

    Everyone offers something special to our group. Parents are encouraged to share their homeschool experiences, ideals and resources. Join us in our common goal of educating our kids.

    HRBHE's name doesn't exist to exclude any race. We welcome everyone. Our name is merely a beacon for fellow African-American homeschool families that are searching for fellowship, support and information.
