- Scientopia (Science Unschooled) - Welcome to Scientopia, a new list list that provides cool online science links for unschooling/homeschooling exploration, as well as a forum for discussion of IRL science resources, events, news, etc.
This list is dedicated to exploring how science can be learned and enjoyed without "school", without canned curricula, without artifically dividing it up into grade levels and turning it into a chore; and how science is all around us waiting to be explored and how humans are natural born scientists!
We're unschooling-friendly here, but any homeschooler who is interested in thinking about science education outside the box is welcome! Just take note that discussion of schooly curriculum programs and packages is not the focus here, but rather "mix and match" links and resources for individualized and independent exploration.
***Warning: this list is for discussing [secular] science education only, NOT Creationism, Intelligent Design, or other forms of pseudoscience.***

- secular_homeschoolers (Secular Homeschoolers) - Are you tired of wading through all the religious rhetoric and intolerance when it comes to homeschooling your kids? Do you just want a place to come together with other people like yourself who are homeschooling for non-religious reasons? Then you have come to the right group! I would like this to be a place to find all kinds of secular resources and where you can get non-religious opinions on home education curriculum. We mostly discuss homeschooling but are open to other topics that you might discuss with friends. Upon joining, you are expected to post an introduction, thereafter, you are expected to post a message at least once a month. Please treat everyone with the same courtesy that you would treat your friends. No yelling, flaming, spamming, or derogatory statements. If someone says something that you like or agree with then speak up. If you don't like or agree with something then please ignore it. We love to help families just getting started on their homeschool adventure too! We also have a subgroup for members who enjoy reading and discussing books. Join us!

- secularhomeschooling (Secular Homeschooling) - I homeschool my child for intellectual, moral and social reasons. Morality and Religiosity are not the same thing. This list may, I hope, provide a place for people who homeschool to discuss issues without constantly bringing God into the fray. Also, it is important in today's political climate for families, homeschooling for non-religious reasons, to make their presence known. This is my little effort in that direction.

- Sci-Fi_EnchantingInk_HomeschoolCo-op (Enchanting Ink's Science Fiction Page) - Welcome to Enchanting Ink's Science Fiction lovers page. Our goal is to create new ways to effectively use Sci-Fi books, movies & other Sci-Fi resources in our homeschooling curriculums. Most of us probably already do so, but with so many people to swap ideas with, this page should be lots of fun & very creative. Our site is for parents to exchange information - and for the kids too. They can submit via email their favorite book lists, book & movie reviews, plus tell us what they would like to see on this site & keep us on our toes. My son's dream is an almost all Star Wars curriculum. LOL, Probably the dream of many homeschoolers.
We are looking for curriculum guidelines using anything Sci-Fi in a creative way, incorporating science experiements & activities where possible. Sci-Fi game reviews, short plays, puppet shows, question & vocabulary lists, spelling lists, costume & craft ideas...Recipes & Party Planning information would also be highly appreciated!
We all like different things so there should be lots of variety out there. Please remember to respect all teaching styles & the opinions of your fellow members. Make this a group that you are proud to be a part of. This is a relaxed place to chat with others who are of like mind, swap curriculum ideas & downloads, and hopefully, a fun site for the kids too.
Enchanting Ink Homeschool Co-op has been broken up into several Yahoo Groups by topic to make it easier to navigate the sites and find what you are looking for. They are all listed in the LINKS area.

- WORKandHOMESCHOOL (Work and Homeschool) - Do you have to (or have to return to) work or attend school but still want to educate your child(ren) at home? Have you been told that it's impossible to fit homeschooling your child(ren) into your life if you cannot make it your top priority due to your own work or school needs? Well, many of our list members are proving that work and homeschool can be done!
We are a support group for working parents (or student parents) who have chosen to homeschool our children or are considering homeschooling, as well as for homeschooling parents who are thinking of returning to work. Whether you are working/attending school or thinking of doing so, whether inside or outside your home, and whether you are homeschooling or thinking of doing so, this list is for you. Please join us as we discuss the unique challenges and concerns of trying to fit homeschooling into our lives when we must work or attend school ourselves.
MOST IMPORTANT -- READ THIS: In order to be accepted into the group, you will need to send us a SEPARATE introductory letter telling us about yourself and why you want to join.
This is a zero-tolerance-for-advertising list. Solicitations of any type, whether for profit or not, are not allowed. Please note, also, that looking for work, as well as finding or developing a home business, etc., are basically off-topic. There are other lists for job hunting and for those who want to find or develop home businesses. This group is primarily for emotional and practical support.
