Christian Home Education is not a unified theory of education. There are as many ways to educate our children as there are families. In spite of the diversity of our spiritual, philosophical, and educational theories or approaches, unity does exist through our desire to educate our children in a manner that is pleasing to God.

CACHE was founded in order to help create a landing place for new home educators, provide on-line and face-to-face support for parents, strengthen the opportunity for community in our area, and inform families about learning opportunities, field trips, and fun activities.

We have weekly park or play days, a monthly Parent's night out, family potlucks, field trips, hands-on activities (swim parties, geocaching adventures, card & craft making parties, clay classes, knitting club) and online as well as in person support. We will continue these activities and encourage new members to make suggestions and organize outings.

We are a non-directed Christian network of homeschooling families from the northern coast of Oregon and the southern coast of Washington. We are open to new and experienced homeschoolers, and we welcome all people regardless of race, age, gender, or homeschooling tradition/program. Most homeschoolers are already on a tight budget and by exchanging unused items for "new" items we can all keep a rotating exchange going, or just simply ensuring that we give our fellow homeschoolers "first grab" ! We are a regional group that utilizes the internet to communicate and plan activities that we attend, rather than a geographically unbound group that uses the internet to support one another in following a certain homeschooling methodology or system. However, we do realize the value such ideological groups provide and encourage families to participate in those for which they feel an affinity.

We recognize the need for and benefit of social interaction and learning outside the home. Hence, we combine for playgroups, field trips, classes, clubs, etc. Many of these activities are organized and/or led by parents within the group. Our parents know that homeschooling provides children and parents an opportunity to learn and grow, and that if each parent gives a little in their own way, the whole group will richly benefit.

We also recognize that, collectively, we represent a large enough community to persuade providers to offer classes, activities and leagues at times and within frameworks that better meet the needs of families not attending public school. This could include dance and karate classes during school hours, soccer and baseball teams made up of homeschool kids, or educational classes designed for multi-age family groups.

Our Co-op's list is for: co-oping of all types, homeschool discussion, posting activities like play dates, field trips, teen events, etc. Active participation is expected in this coop.

Sometimes we feel like we don't fit into the "mold" of our YM/YW in our ward because we home school. But, we still need others to relate to and do fun things with.

This group will meet from time to time for fun outings, field trips, appropriate movies and at least twice to four times a year a temple trip. If there is enough interest we'll also have a "teen" sessions at the Annual LDS-OHEA Home Schooling conference.

Hello, and welcome to LEAP! We are a small group of relaxed homeschoolers located in Washington County Oregon. The children in our group range from ages 1-16. But we welcome all ages.

We are wanting to get together for field trips, crafts, and games. Basically give the moms and dads a chance to socialize and the kids a chance to play, connect, and make friends with other children in the area.

This group was created for us to come and discuss topics of interest, and plan group projects and outings.

I think the big lists do an amazing job of discussing unschooling. I'd like this group to be a way to meet real life radical unschoolers in Portland (and surrounding areas). If discussion happens - great! If lots of fun trips to OMSI happen - great! If picnics and waterfights and hanging out happen - awesome!

If you are seeking information only Orsig or Greater Portland Homeschoolers might be more what you are looking for. All major events will be posted there as well. Our hope is to build a tighter bond within our community.

SHINE is an organization for support, educational fieldtrips and socialization of homeschooling families in Salem, Oregon and surrounding areas.

Vision/Purpose: SHINE holds park days, meetings and annual get-togethers such as camping trips and picnics. No one person or commitee is required to plan any activity. Families are invited to plan social activities and/or field trips of their choice. We remain free, open and most of all simple and uncomplicated. This enables each family to decide its own homeschool needs and how best to meet those needs. Emphasis is on group activities with respect, compassion and tolerance toward others.
