We are an organization of Christian families who share a commitment to the Biblically based Home Education of our children.

The purpose of AAHE is to provide the following services to member families

• Information concerning state and local laws and regulations and their current application by the administrative authorities
• Training to help parents provide the education they believe God has called them to give their children
• Practical support from other experienced Home Educating families
• A forum for social and educational group activities
• Advocate the concept of Home Education & encourage a good reputation for Home Educators in the community
• Establish and promote reasonable standards for responsible Home Education

Once you become a member of AAHE, it is desirable that you become involved with one of our committees formed to make your family's homeschool experience more rewarding. All members must accept the Aiken Area Home Educators Articles of Faith and Pay Annual Dues. AAHE meets at least four times a year on the second Monday of January, April, July & October. AAHE also provides member families a monthly newsletter "QUILL" as a way of communicating events, opportunities and much more!

All our learning is alternative, we learn by doing, therefore we are out in the world experiencing and would like to find other homeschool friends who would like to come along on our alternative learning journey.

This year our outings will include, climbing, biking, canoeing, skating, paintball, movie night, bowling. I will be adding to my list of things we'd like to do this year, and we'd like to invite you to come along.

Secular in nature, we welcome unschoolers from all walks of life. Our discussions focus on exploring topics like natural learning, respectful parenting, joyful living, freedom and autonomy, living by principles, convincing family, surviving panic and criticism, living without fear, resisting enrollment, non-coercive parenting, deschooling ourselves, and letting go of controls.

The purpose of this group is to provide an atmosphere for support and fellowship, as well as a place to share and ask for advice, network, and offer activities and field trips for our homeschooled children and their families. This group is dependent upon its members actively participating as a TEAM (Together Everyone Achieves More!). We also hope to provide members with lasting memories and friendships that bring us together to form a stronger homeschool community.

This group is registered as a non-profit(501)c3 organization in compliance with the NC State laws and is open to all homeschool families regardless of race, religion, home school or parenting styles.

Since its inception in April 2001, SOS has supported families that have made the decision to unschool as they face difficult questions and challenges. These families may wonder about socialization, the legal issues surrounding unschooling, accountability associations, or integration of John Holt's educational philosophy into their everyday lives. Some families may doubt their abilities, feel confused and ask themselves, "Can I really do this?" SOS encourages parents to trust themselves and their children to make good decisions and empowers them to find the support and information they need.

This group is OPEN to ALL that Homeschool. I've taken upon myself to help all home school familes the opportunity to take organized trips and activities at a discounted price..So if this sounds like something you would like to be apart of come join us..If anyone has any ideas or upcoming activities they would like to post, your more than welcome..It's a wonderful way for our children to meet other homeschoolers in the area..and for us mom's to get to know each other also.
