- Ashburn Christian Home Educators (ACHE) - Ashburn Christian Home Educators (ACHE) is a 'Christ-focused' support group. ACHE is a group of about 170 homeschooling families in Ashburn and surrounding areas. The main elements of our group consist of monthly Mom's Meetings, occasional Dad's Meetings, a Yahoo! Group email loop, the Field Trip Co-op, and numerous smaller co-ops which are coordinated by different members of the group.

- Baltimore-Washington Home Educators (BWHE) - An on-line community for open-minded homeschoolers in the region who are interested in participating in a community that represents a diverse range of religious, political and philosophical beliefs. Our community also represents a wide range of ethnic groups, education levels, and socio-economic classes. The one thing we have in common is an interest in trying to do what is best for our children and our family.
While we welcome all homeschoolers, we request that you respect the diversity of this group. This means that posts designed to promote a particular religious or political agenda are prohibited. Our intent is to provide a community where members can feel free to share homeschooling ideas and resources, ask questions and find encouragement and positive attitudes! - Christian Homeschoolers of Caroline (chscc) - Caroline County has had its own homeschool group for about 7 years now. We need support without having to drive to Fredericksburg or Richmond more than we already need to. If you would like to be involved in something a little closer to home, come join Christian Homeschoolers of Caroline County!
In order to keep our costs to a minimum and to keep track of members, the only individuals that will be listed as members of CHSCC are those that have joined this yahoo group. This email loop is how information will be shared and events will be planned. But you are more than welcome to pass these activities on to your friends who may not have joined. Or goal is to share the love of Jesus and support other homeschoolers in Caroline County!

- Culture at Home (cultureathome) - An African American homeschool support group in the Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia area with an emphasis on the older homeschooled student and for families concerned with the healthy well-being and academic guidance of their African-American child. African American Homeschoolers often make great sacrifices in order to provide their children with the best education and relevant academic exposure . We are doing this with very little support from society and sometimes without the approval and understanding of our own families.The purpose of this group is to provide an educational outreach support program and to supplement the curriculum of homeschoolers with children ages 10-18 (grades 5-12).
Rising Words, Rising Images is an important "Culture at Home" monthly book discussion group for young people ages 13-18. It is a creative introduction to the great diversity that exists in our nation, which will help children view the world more openly. Through classics and world literature, this discussion group is dedicated to teaching children to value diversity and to grow into productive, caring citizens of a global society seeking to advance the dignity of young people around the world teaching the importance of diversity, tolerance and promoting mutual respect among all. We offer a monthly children's internet bookclub for ages 6-18 and we encourage participation in the Annual African American Read-In. We offer World Literature Class for grades 9-12, Creative Writing Workshops, college fairs, seminars and tutorial information. Our vision is that both the parent/teacher and the child/student are lifelong learners. We are not a chat group.

- De Novo Homeschool Network - Alexandria - De Novo Homeschool Network & Skye Chase Academy is a catholic homeschool community with the purpose to encourage parents as the primary educators of their children. De Novo Homeschool Network & Skye Chase Academy are ministries at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Alexandria, Virginia. Our homeschool community started in 1999 to support and encourage families who have chosen home education for their children in northern Virginia. We have a thriving community that welcome families from many faiths and backgrounds.
Membership in De Novo Homeschool Network provides a wide variety of social gatherings, Kennedy Center performances, park days, family potlucks, and monthly field trips.
