The purpose of CHEF is to serve, encourage, and support Christian homeschooling families in Franklin and the surrounding counties of Virginia . - Giles Homeschool Co-op - Giles county - Giles Homeschool Co-op was founded in 2011 by homeschool parents for homeschool children in Giles County, Virginia. Homeschool families unite in the education of their children as unto the Lord. This group is composed of some long-time homeschoolers as well as newer ones, and also a few with young children who are "getting ready". We are a Christian group of families that seek to encourage and support one another in the calling to homeschool our children in a Christ-centered environment.
We have various activities and organized field trips from time to time. Our meeting format includes a brief devotional, any business matters and then a time of open discussion where anyone can ask questions, share a problem and seek advice, etc.
We generally have our monthly meetings at homes or churches of our group members on a volunteer basis; the location changes depending upon who has volunteered to host that month's meeting.

The area is also all inclusive. A central meeting space I am thinking of now is Sugar Hollow Park in Bristol, VA. This can be changed of course, depending on where the majority of our members are located (we'll try to keep it central). Pretty much if you are a homeschooler and you are willing to drive to the area, you are welcome.
For now, we can work on meeting each other on here until we have a few members who are interested. We can also discussing switching up locations or adding field trips in the future!
