Learning All The Time
by John Holt
This delightful book by the influential author of How Children Fail and How Children Learn shows how children learn to read, write, and count in their everyday life at home and how adults can respect and encourage this wonderful process.
The object of teaching a child is to enable the child to get along without the teacher. We need to educate our children for their future, not our past.

Christian Home Educators of West Virginia - CHEWV has been the essential force behind every homeschool law in WV. Having our Board and many, many parents throughout the years spending countless hours being our own lobbyists, has resulted in a fairly lenient homeschool law in WV that is enjoyed by all today. The WV government school system has great influence at the state capitol. Although most younger home educators are unaware of it, during the past three decades, CHEWV has addressed frequent and occasionally serious threats to West Virginia’s homeschooling and/or parental freedoms.

The heart of every couple on our Board is for all WV home educators

    • to understand the importance of a state group dedicated to preserve the voice of families in our counties, courts and legislature,
    • to have access to all news and events that will help them home school in WV,
    • and to utilize the resources that CHEWV has to offer.
