SEMichiganHomeschoolingTeens-Preteens (SE Michigan Homeschooling Teens&Preteens) - SE Michigan Homeschooling Teens and Pre-teens is an informally structured homeschool support group comprised of homeschooling families in Southeastern Michigan. By pooling the talents and resources of our members, we attempt to provide positive alternatives to the social and extra curricular activities typically offered in a traditional school setting. Our parents currently organize dances, a school newspaper, Odyssey of the Mind Teams, a varsity letter program, various classes, fieldtrips and lots of fun get togethers!

We are an open and welcoming group who respect each other’s beliefs and homeschooling styles. It is our intention that this group continue to be a welcoming place for parents to work cooperatively to organize activities and events. A place to pool our resources for academic and social opportunities. And a place to ask questions, find encouragement and support in our homeschooling journeys.

*As a member of this group you agree to adhere to these conditions:*

    1. Religious and politically persuasive posts are NOT to be a part of the group's online discussion. This group is considered secular and inclusive. We are tolerant, respectful and welcoming to people of any faith, and also to people who chose not to prescribe to an organized religion.

    2. No lurking, all members must participate in some activities or field trips.

    3. By participating in this group’s activities you hereby acknowledge that SE Michigan Homeschooling Teens and Pre-teens is an informal club and not a formal entity. In addition, you waive all claims of liability for any injury to yourself or your children while engaging in, en route to, or returning from any activity or event affiliated with or organized by the volunteer parents of SE Michigan Homeschool Teens and Pre-teens and agree to hold them harmless for any such injury.

    To subscribe, visit SEMichiganHomeschoolingTeens-Preteens.

SEMI-WTM (South East Michigan Well Trained Mind) - We serve homeschooling parents in SE Michigan, providing online communication, connections and support with other Well Trained Mind/Classical families or those interested in implementing Well Trained Mind/Classical ideas. The group offers a forum for discussion of classical education as well as notice, discussion and planning of events in the SE Michigan area.

Discussions involving the use of Charlotte Mason methods and other classical interpreters are also encouraged. All ages from infants to veteran homeschoolers in the midst of the grammar, logic or rhetoric stages are encouraged to join us, as are all faiths.

Homeschoolers are invited to exchange information, ideas and resources.

The group's activities will be centered in Macomb County, but as we have more members we will expand.

By participating in this group’s activities you hereby acknowledge that SEMI-WTM is an informal club and not a formal entity. In addition, you waive all claims of liability for any injury to yourself or your children while engaging in, en route to, or returning from any activity or event affiliated with or organized by the volunteer parents of SEMI-WTM and agree to hold them harmless for any such injury.

    To subscribe, visit SEMI-WTM.

    To subscribe, visit SLHeritageHomeEducators.

StClairCountyHomeschool (Michigan St. Clair County Homeschoolers) - We are a secular based online group that participates in activities outside the online reality for gatherings.

My goal is to create a place where all homeschoolers, regaurdless of faith, race, family status, or any other thing that can get into the way of support, can go to and feel as though they belong. I really want ALL homeschoolers to feel at home with us.

The online portion of the group is mainly for setting up dates for us to gather for field trips and get support when needed if the families can't get out to field trips. Outside the forum on field trips you will notice that our group that does gather no longer cares if you are christian, buddhist, black, white, adopted, birth or whatever else type of person you are because they know *you* as a homeschooler.

No matter how long you homeschooled, vetran or just starting out we have that common ground to stand on and build from. Knowing that we are "not alone" in homeschooling and that there are others out there is really what we are about! For this reason we ask that the *hot* topics like Religion and Politics stay off the boards. *No flaming will be allowed. *

~It has come to my attention that some non members believe this group to be "anti christian" and I wanted to make it clear that we are not anti religion in any fashion. Almost all of our families are of faith, But I'd prefer everyone's religious beliefs not be a part of the online portion of the group's purpose so that we can all come together & share ideas & support each other. We all come from many backgrounds and need to be aware that written word can sometimes be read wrong online.

    To subscribe, visit StClairCountyHomeschool.
